This beautiful piece was inspired by my trip to Istanbul, Turkey where the Ottoman Empire was established in 1299 lasting centuries up until its decline in the early 20th century. The maroon color is inspired by Gertic tile work and designs that make up a major part of prominent Ottoman architecture especially in the Topkapi Palace.
The Ottoman Empire saw a period of religious pluralism and academic excellence at unprecedented levels. The relics of the Ottomans serve as inspiration to Muslims and the whole world to strive for knowledge and magnanimity.
