The story behind the artwork
‘’Read in the name of your lord who created…Who taught by the pen. Taught man which he knew not.’’
These are the first verses of the Quran that were revealed. Educating oneself is obligatory for every Muslim. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) likens seeking knowledge to Jihad, or struggling in God’s way. We must strive to be soldiers of knowledge, enlightening both ourselves and our communities with knowledge and wisdom.
