Inside the print

The Verse of the Throne, in Kufic

Kufic was the earliest Arabic script used to transcribe the Quran. Its bold, geometric elegance adorned mosques, palaces and monuments across the Islamic world for centuries, in a tradition where script itself was an art form.

Inscribed across this crushed velvet A-rag is Ayat al-Kursi, the Verse of the Throne, regarded as one of the most majestic verses of the Quran. A wearable piece of history with roots in the 7th century.
